Looking back over the summer, I’ve been to some lovely places around Derbyshire to complete bat surveys for my clients.

This survey was of an old stone barn behind Hall Farm House Bed and Breakfast. The owners are lovely; you may want to check them out if staying in the Peak District.

My bat report is available on the Peak District National Park’s planning website.

During the survey it was obvious that bats use the barn; there were feeding signs of brown long-eared bats in several places, but it wasn’t clear for the day-time inspection whether bats also roost here (they often roost out of site, such as deep in crevices or between roof tiles and roof membranes).

As my reports are always delivered on the same day as the survey, my client had plenty of time to organise the next stage of surveys to support his application.

Got a similar project in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or Staffordshire that needs a bat survey?
