Chellaston, Derby, Derbyshire – Bat Survey

A Preliminary Roost Assessment (PRA) was competed at a Site in Chellaston for a planning application to extend the Client’s home.

The Site had features that are suitable for large roosts of bats to inhabit. This would usually lead to an assessment that the building is of high potential value for bats. However, I successfully presented a case that a lack of direct signs of bats (such as their faeces) meant that I could downgrade the building from high to medium potential value. This saved the client time and money with phase 2 surveys.

The application has now passed through planning, and the works to the building are complete.
