Castle Donington, Leicestershire – Bat Survey

A Preliminary Bat Roost Assessment (PBRA) was commissioned for a bungalow in Castle Donington for a planning application to extend the property

The survey concluded that the Site only had one feature that could be used by bats.  I was able to undertake an endoscope inspection of the feature on the day, and concluded that it was not used by bats. I returned on a second occasion to double check the findings, and blocked the hole.  Although this approach is only suitable in very rare situations, I was able to save the client delays and expense from having to undertake evening surveys for ecologists to observe for bats flying to or from the building.

The application has now passed through planning (several times, as the plan has now changed to construct a replacement building rather than remodel it).

Got a similar project in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, or Staffordshire that needs a bat survey?
