Scraptoft, Harborough, Leicestershire – Bat Survey

This began as a simple project for the client, but his scope kept growing – it started as a kitchen extension, but ended up as a planning application for a large two storey rear extension and raising the roof for additional bedrooms in the loft!

I tend to focus on Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire, but this project in Leicestershire came up as I was recommended by the client’s work colleague and I had a quiet week!

The bat survey found that there were limited opportunities for bats to roost at the property, and if the full extension was going to be completed some level of additional survey would be needed, but as the client didn’t intend to complete all the works as one project (and may never do all that the permission allows), we discussed what phases and what works might benefit from additional information on bats, and what could be completed without any further regard to bats.

Do you have a project that needs a bat survey?
